Mission
To provide a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters the growth and development of young children, while also supporting the needs of their families. We believe that every child deserves to be loved, cared for, and educated. We strive to create a safe and inclusive space where all children may thrive.
Philosophy
We offer a play-based setting where educators facilitate learning
through a variety of play experiences, including structured and
non-structured activities. We believe play provides the foundation
for learning and understanding in all areas of development. We
respond to children's play by giving children the freedom and
support to pursue their interests.
Children are treated as active participants in an encouraging and
safe environment. Families are valued, as is our community. The
SNCC team is committed to quality, developmentally appropriate,
culturally sensitive practice working in partnership with
children, families and community.
We acknowledge that families are central to children's healthy
development and parents are experts on their children.
Inclusion Policy
SNCC welcomes all children to our program. Our daily program
integrates all children into activities that are meaningful and
well-suited to their developmental level. Educators will make
every effort to adapt the indoor and outdoor program to
accommodate children and to give all children the opportunity to
develop physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually to
their fullest potential. Children are recognized as individuals
and are supported as such.
A respectful partnership is
created between families, the child care program and
professionals.
Mutual support is established by
sharing information between the home, the Centre and outside
professionals. Families are welcome to take part in the
decision-making. This information will be used to ensure the
child's needs and abilities are met as required.
Educators will be involved and work with all children, and
professional development will be provided as required. If, based
on observation and documentation educators determine a child would
benefit from having a developmental or behavioral assessment a
meeting will be arranged with the parent/guardian to develop an
action plan and further steps.
